On this episode I take a look at some of the reasons why the Mets have been medicore in the 2008 season. I also talk about the reasons why we could be doing worse in 2008 but are not. Some other topics on the show include:
A roundup of recent posts from Mets bloggers
A summary of Mets news items since the last show
A proposal to move the Clubhouse domain to iheartmets.com

It’s all Johan Santana on this episode. The Mets have acquired the best free agent pitcher on the market. The cost in dollars is high but he’s worth it if this gets the Mets to a World Series win.
Quite a rant on this episode of Amazin Moments. I spend most of the time talking about the implications of the Mitchell Report on steroids in Major League Baseball. I also touch on the Mets rising ticket prices and the Mets signing a reliever named Matt Wise.
On this episode I talk about who should stay and who should go for 2008. Also cover some Mets news. A-Rod To The Yanks. Catcher Yorvit Torrealba not coming to the Mets. Ramon Castro re-signed. Mets now looking at David Eckstein for second base.

A recap of a roller coaster week with the Mets losing four to the Phillies only to win four in a row. Lots going on. David Wright is very hot at the plate right now. Jose Reyes is just as cold. Relief pitching is a problem with Guillermo Mota and Billy Wagner giving up too many runs. Starting pitching is looking up though with the return of Pedro Martinez and an exceptional outing by Mike Pelfrey.
Listen to an angry rant by WFAN’s Joe Beningo from last Friday morning here. All I can say is, “I agree!”
Things are looking up though with these wins and the Phillies falling apart after gaining some ground. Lets Go Mets!
There are some serious rants about the Mets on this podcast. A lot of talk about the recent losses to San Diego at home. Problems include Guillermo Mota, Carlos Delgado and pitching in general. Also some thoughts on the trade for Jeff Conine and the hopeful return of Pedro Martinez.
Still going sideways but hopeful. Recap of the frustrations of a lost home series to the Braves and Marlins. Congratulations to Tom Glavine on his 300th career victory. Discussion (more like a rant actually) of what it means to be “a Met.” Hopes for the series’ against the Pirates and Nationals. My two cents on how Willie can make some changes. And a small update on the progress of Pedro Martinez.
Commentary on the performance of the Mets since the All-Star Break. A review of the many player moves. Discussion of what the Mets need to do in Los Angeles. A little bit of ink envy with respect to the Mets coverage in New York papers.
The Mets have definitely skidded into the All-Star break. Poor play, injuries and (at times) lack of hustle have hurt the team. Who will Omar go out and get to try and boost the roster? Will Pedro Martinez come back 100%? Will the Carloses pick it up after the break?
Lots of questions folks. As fans all we can do is believe in the magic.
In the midst of a warm streak (winners of five out of six games) the Mets get rained out in their series finale with St. Louis. So its on to Philadelphia for four games in three days. A big series? Yesiree!
I talk alot about the state of the offense, going through the lineup and addressing the issues. I think we need to trade for an outfielder. What do you think? Vote here.
Plus injury updates and a comment from Greg In CT.
Welcome to Amazin’ Moments, the un-official New York Mets Baseball Podcast. This is where fans of the New York Mets pro baseball team get their fix.
I’ve been a lifelong Mets fan. I grew up just a few miles from Shea Stadium and have experienced all the ups and downs of the last 30 years of Mets baseball.
Now you can get involved via this podcast. I’ll be recording posts that you can listen to in order to get my perspective on the 2006 Mets baseball season. You can talk back now by commenting on each post. If you’re more of a vocal person then call in to the comment line at (206) 333-0878 and let ‘er rip.
