There are some serious rants about the Mets on this podcast. A lot of talk about the recent losses to San Diego at home. Problems include Guillermo Mota, Carlos Delgado and pitching in general. Also some thoughts on the trade for Jeff Conine and the hopeful return of Pedro Martinez.

I totally agree with you and Mota. It was absolute disbelief and jaw dropping when they brought in Mota. In honest we were predicting at what out will he just implode on himself and give up two or three runs. The Mets in my opinion should release him or in fact send him back to the minors and bring back Joe Smith and put him in the bullpen for long relief. The guy only gave up one run on three hits in his last outing in July. All rookie pitchers go through that, Joe is not an exception to that. Demote Mota and bring back Smith for long relief, isn’t that a good plan? Also, Wagner needs a day off, and by that I mean when their is a save situation just let him have that off and give it to someone else like Sosa or Sele, Sele has just been there and is just a wasted arm. One or two “saves off” will get Wagner back on track. And I just want to bring up Heilman. The guy is good, he can pitch, but I cannot trust in late in the game and with the Mets tied or one run up on the other team. Heilman is starting to get the reputation of being the guy that cracks under pressure, just look at the 10th inning of Thursday’s game, gave up a solo shot that gave the Padres the game. I was thinking of this during the game yesterday, why doesn’t Willie just sit Degaldo for a few days and put Green or Conine on first and Milledge at right? That sounds good to me especially the way Milledge is playing this month, it just a shame for such a propect to go to waste.
