Winter Heats Up
We’re only a week out from the World Series and things are heating up. The NY Daily News is reporting today that Tom Glavine and the Mets are very close on a two year deal. I think that’s really good news. We need Tom’s veteran presence on the team in ‘07.
Then the news comes across the wire that Guillermo Mota’s apparent resurgence is apparently tainted. Word is that he has tested positive for performance enhancing drugs and will undure a 50 game suspension. Mota had already filed for free agency but his performance in the second half made him a candidate to return with the Mets next year. I’m sure Omar will take a pass now.
The forum seems to be heating up as well. Thanks to all for taking part in the conversation.
Let’s Go Mets!
Welcome to Amazin’ Moments, the un-official New York Mets Baseball Podcast. This is where fans of the New York Mets pro baseball team get their fix.

It’s kinda fitting that the Mets lost. I wouldn’t have wanted to win, only to find out that a major piece of our bullpen was straight up cheating. That would’ve been a bummer.

It’s just plain stupid to do something as idiotic as to cheat. It makes you look bad, and you team. It really makes me mad. Why can players not just play fair. How hard is it. And you know that a bunch more people are using ‘roids. Just stop, gosh.

I never considered Mota a true Met. I would have been devastated had he come up through our organization and made it to the majors without getting caught. The whole steroid issue is a rant that could go on for ages.

The METS have been/ are the RODNEY DANGERFIELDS of baseball especially here in NY.
I was insulted by all the other crap in NY papers about mangers who might be forced out of team that didn’t make it out of the first round while the METS were fighting for a trip to the WORLD SERIES. or as Jose put it the world Serious.
It’s time to take the METS SERIOUS.
Next year I think the team has to take a page from Ron Darling who said of the 1986 team We had to win the World Series.
I’m born and raised here in THE BRONX but my team is across the bridge in FLUSHING the METS OF COURSE
