Since it's not an official team release things may change... I sure hope not

Now we may need El Duque more than ever. We'll see what happens with Glavine very soon. I've heard about the Green-Delgado connection as well. If we can pick up Green without giving up any good prospects then I'm all for it.

Ya gotta love Sid. He looked like he could still throw a few good innings. He spent 10 years with the Mets. How about Jesse Orosco? That dude played through the real lean years and went on to have an amazingly long career.

I hereby retract every negative comment I made about the acquisition of Hernandez for Jorge Julio. In retrospect it turned out to be a critical trade for us this season - where would we be without him?

I wasn't particularly looking forward to all the '86 reunion hype but now must confess that I really enjoyed it. I wonder if that was the only applause Doug Sisk ever got at Shea? And seeing Sid Fernandez walk out there really got to me - I had forgotten how he was the last Mets player that I really had an emotional connection with. I think maybe Delgado is the first Met since then that tugs at me in the same way. Silly for a grown man, I know. But that's what being a Mets fan does to you I guess.

Frankly that's the only reason I like this Shawn Green idea - I hear how close he and Delgado are.

Another good podcast Rob!

SI is reporting:

Shawn Green has decided to waive his no-trade clause to join the Mets if a deal can be finalized. With this huge obstacle definitively out of the way, the largest barrier separating Green from Shea now is figuring out how much of Green's contract the Diamondbacks would pay in a deal, according to sources. -- New York Post

Interesting to see who our 40 man roster will be come September 1. I'd love to see Bannister back. Let's hope Pedro and Glavine are ok!
