Welcome to Amazin’ Moments, the un-official New York Mets Baseball Podcast. This is where fans of the New York Mets pro baseball team get their fix.
I’ve been a lifelong Mets fan. I grew up just a few miles from Shea Stadium and have experienced all the ups and downs of the last 30 years of Mets baseball.
Now you can get involved via this podcast. I’ll be recording posts that you can listen to in order to get my perspective on the New York Mets baseball team. You can talk back now by commenting on the podcasts and writing your own blog posts about the Mets on our social network at www.iheartmets.com.
Lets Go Mets!
Mets up 7-2 in the top of the 9th - 2 outs. Can we break the slide????
Nice way for Delgado to bust out of his slump (2 HR, 3B). Beltran is definitely MVP.

Lord I hope so! Would be great for Delgado to continue heating up for the next few games. John Maine saves the day again. And the magic number stands at 30.

lets hope d wright gets a day off, rests and heats back up. man, if delgado hits like that in the postseason, we’re a differnt team. i’d passon shawn green, go with a healthy floyd in LF and endy c in RF. lets get a pitcher

I hate to say it, but with the Rockies coming to town this weekend, I’ll be tuning into the Yanks / Sox 5 game series. I hate the Sox, and it’s gonna be a great playoff raise.
Dave Williams gets his first start as a Met - be nice if he turns into another Maine-like pitcher (and he’s a lefty). I think we got the pitching to win it this year - we just need to get our staff into a groove. I can’t wait for the 40 man roster September 1.

we have the pitchign to win?? and where are these pitchers hiding out lately?? Maine has been the only real anchor we have.. Glavine has been in a funk.. Pedro has been hurt and El Duque has been serving up more hits then a McDonald’s serves hamburgers… our pitching is far from world series pitching at the moment.. if Main continues what he’s doing and pedro and Glavine go back to how they were earlier in the season… and El Duque finds some of his post season magic then I say we have the pitching to win it all.. but if it stays this way… we’ll be meat to the AL Champ

>>> Maine has been the only real anchor we have..
Yep - streaks of brilliance. He’s a rookie - he’s learning, and shown that he can contribute and win.
>>> Pedro has been hurt
His three starts since coming off the DL have been solid. He had a bad warm up, and the pitching coach didn’t tell Willie the warmup tingle Pedro felt.
>>> El Duque has been serving up more hits
He had 4 solid starts in a row before the last one. No pitcher this year has been dominant every start.
The Mets aren’t gonna trade for a #1 or #2 starter - best to refine what we have - it’s worked so far.

Good on David Wright who looks like he’s breaking out of his slump. This would be a good time to make some hay and burn that magic number down. Meanwhile Trachsel is a 12 game winner.
I don’t think there are any good options for starting pitchers on the open market . I’d like to see a healthy Cliff Floyd in left with Endy Chavez in right. But I’d still take Shawn Green if the price was right.

Had a thought on Wright’s recent slump. Maybe it’s the protection in the line up? When Floyd was doing well, he was forcing pitchers to give D-Wright good pitches, vs garbage.
Now David has Tucker and Valentine protecting him.

Lastings did amazing, Mets came back, Williams was solid til he hurt the leg, Wagner has a 1-2-3 9th. Boom!
