Pedro To DL
Fox Sports reports that it’s fifteen days rest for Pedro Martinez due to a strained calf. A bummer but better now then this time next month. Heath Bell called up to replace Pedro on the roster.
Why Bell? According to the story on Mets.com, “Mike Pelfrey is assigned to the disabled list, Alay Soler still hasn’t resumed pitching since his demotion, Brian Bannister is struggling against Triple-A hitters and Jose Lima is not likely to get a third second chance.

Ugh, no help tonight. Glavine pitched pretty well, but the bats weren’t there. This team needs a shot in the arm to get going again.

At least the pitching came back. No Milledge in the outfield was a welcome change – not trying to make him the whipping boy, but some on.
Maybe we can salvage the game tomorrow.

Awww… I wanted to see Lima so I could finish that brain hemmorage I have been working on during his previous starts in the majors… God why don’t the Mets just dump his butt… I say include him in a deal for Green, even if we have to pay his whole contract.. let Arizona have some Lima time… we have to share the wealth, Uhhh.. I mean dissapointments
