What about Felix Hernandez? He's 10-9 with 122 SO's in 22 games this season, and although he has a 4.29 ERA, I think he is a solid 20 year old that could really help the team. And Lastings has not impressed me at all this season.

Yes Overall I say no on trading either Milledge or Pelfrey... I say we pick up a lesser pitcher such as Hernandez, Meche, Lopez, Maddux, etc.. our time is not only now but now and for the next 4 or more years... we have young talent leading this team with Reyes, Wright and Beltran... Delgado, Pedro and Wagner are going to be around for a few more years... so we are fine if we don't win now... don't mortgage the future for now cause being the Mets it will only come back to bit us ala Kazmir and Nolan Ryan

As far as letting Milledge go for a Zito or Willis, I would have to say I would only trade for Willis. Zito hasnt proven himself that much in the playoffs, and he always seems to get beaten up in those big games that matter. If I had my choice I would keep Milledge, Floyd will be let go after this season, so someone needs to start in left. Keep Pelfrey and do not let him go, I dont want to see another Kazmir incident. But if the deal was right for Willis I could do the deal.

As far as Zito is concerned, I'm thinking of a deal that includes a contract extension as part of the equation.

yeah but Zito is a free agent next year where as Willis isn't eligible for 3 years... I'd take the 3 year rental over the 3 month rental anyday.. and Willis has the NL knowledge where as Zito doesn't.. and with interleague play I think the whole no NL teams know Zito won't matter much

What about Barry Zito? He's young and an excellent pitcher. I feel like Oakland knows that they better get something for him if they have the chance.

The only player the Mets should consider Milledge for is Willis and he isn't available the Marlins said... so no he shouldn't be traded
