Pelfrey 2.0
Nice to see Mike Pelfrey get his second win on Tuesday night. The bats came out again with Nady, Beltran and Valentin going deep. Yes, another slam for Beltran.
But the two runs over six innings was a step forward for Mike P. He did benefit from some Nady hustle to help end the bottom of the sixth inning on a hit by Scott Hatteberg.
A good performance and an encouraging sign for the rotation. Billy Wagner even pitched a scoreless ninth in a non-save situation.

Well, Trachsel’s shakiness finally caught up with him (and us) – I’ve always thought his record to be inflated, too bad Sanchez was stuck with the loss.
I am patiently waiting for Delgado to become my favorite Met. I think he will.

I’d love to see Delgado pick it up. And I expect Trachsel to be shaky all season long. He’ll definitely help to keep the folks who make Tums and Rolaids in business.

OH GOD OH GOD! Anyone else see the reports that the Mets are looking to trade Millegde for Abreu, Abreu are you serious. I can’t be the only one to think that is horrible. Unless we are gonna trade him away for some #1 or #2 starter. I mean if we are gonna trade Milledge might as well add a couple other prospects with him and see if we can get Willis or Zito. I hope it’s not true.

I’ve been hearing Abreu’s name as a trade target for the Yanks. Doesn’t seem to make sense to me since the Mets are not desperate for an outfielder. Are they?
No, doesn’t make sense to me. An outfield of Floyd, Beltran and Nady (with Endy Chavez as a fourth) makes sense to me.
The focus should definitely be on acquiring a good pitcher.

Well Milledge for Abreu seems like a better deal then we’ve done before for prospects… I still say we shouldn’t do it but if we do it then atleast Abreu is young and will be part of our future.. it’s not like we’d be trading for bonds who is over the hill and should be taken out with a pitch right to the back every time up… if I were a pitcher I’d nail him everytime

My mistake.. Abreu is 32.. No go on the trade from me now that I find out he’s that old

Wow! Do we have a fourth starter in John Maine? His performances have been getting better and better but tonight he sealed the deal with a four hit shutout.
The excitement has to be tempered by the news that Pedro checked himself into the hospital tonight.
