Welcome to Amazin’ Moments, the un-official New York Mets Baseball Podcast. This is where fans of the New York Mets pro baseball team get their fix.
I’ve been a lifelong Mets fan. I grew up just a few miles from Shea Stadium and have experienced all the ups and downs of the last 30 years of Mets baseball.
Now you can get involved via this podcast. I’ll be recording posts that you can listen to in order to get my perspective on the New York Mets baseball team. You can talk back now by commenting on the podcasts and writing your own blog posts about the Mets on our social network at www.iheartmets.com.
Lets Go Mets!
I have heard a rumor. That the Mets have been contacted by the White Sox GM in regards to trading Duaner Sanchez for Javier Vazquez and/or Freddy Garcia. Tempting offer. But I’m not 100% sure about this. I say do it if Omar could turn around and ship out say Hernandez for Tom Gordon or some other top tier relief pitcher to fill in for Sanchez. Bradford could take over 8th inning duties but we need another relief incase Wagner goes “Looper” on us again.
I say Minaya sees if he can get some relief and trade Solar or Hernandez for it. Then if he does that package Sanchez and a prospect for both Garcia and Vazquez. They both are doing ok in the AL. But as we have seen the NL is weaker so they should thrive. Also by doing this we could have Hernandez in our Pen as an experienced long reliever to go along with Oliver.
Now this is all just an idea that would hinge on who we could get to replace Sanchez and if that player was good enough. If we’re not getting a god enough player to replace him then for god sakes Omar DON’T TRADE HIM!!!!!

I think Sanchez would be my last trade. I would be willing to give up Heilman for a 4-5 spot starter who has some postseason experience. I think Sanchez has done a tremendous amount to help the team. I think Heilman is losing…something…his arm…his location…his mind.

Can’t trade Sanchez. Teams need a setup man in this day and age. I don’t feel comfortable moving Heilman into that role.
I’d rather see Heilman traded to a place where he can get a chance to start. In return I’d like to see the Mets get someone who can pitch well in the seventh inning with a small lead.
In other news, how about the Mets signing Edgardo (Yeah right he’s 32) Alfonzo to a AAA contract?

Alfonzo’s back… well can’t be any worse then the Matsui debacle.. and it is for sure a lot cheaper… Way to go Floyd and Beltran for same inning grand slams!!
REYES WHERE ARE YOU? WE NEED YOU BACK!!!!

Straight from SI.com
• The White Sox asked the Mets for Duaner Sanchez and Mike Pelfrey for Freddy Garcia. No go. The Sox have spoken to several clubs about Garcia and Javier Vazquez but prefer to keep Vazquez since he’s contractually tied to the team for three more years. Garcia has told people he wouldn’t be devastated to go to New York.
What is that White Sox GM smoking? Pelfrey and Sanchez for Garcia… HA! Keep dreaming Sox fans

Reyes back tomorrow according to the team. Definitely a different lineup without him.
No go to any trade on Pelfrey I say. Let see what he’s got before casting him off for a high dollar question mark.
We know that the White Sox are looking for more pitching, especially after the debacle in the Bronx this weekend. But the Mets have to think about trading anyone good to a team they might fact in October if we can get to the Series.

I love the mets and give my props to David but I don’t see him stealing bases like Jose Reyes. Jose Reyes has done alot for fans during the season. he hits home runs all through out the season. He should be the MVP no offese to Dvaid Wright. If you read this you should at least think about some of my reasons to vote for Jose Reyes for MVP instead of David Wright. Thank You
