Where New York Mets Fans Get Their Fix

New York Mets Podcast #22

Get your Mets talk here! A recap of last weeks Billy Wagner fiasco and then on to the Blue Jays series. Also talking about the upcoming series with the Red Sox which I don’t think qualifies as any kind of ’86 rematch. Interesting to see Pedro back in Boston though.

Jose Reyes gets hot over the last week vaulting his batting average of .300. He’s making a move to attain star status on par with David Wright.

Willie’s use of the bullpen is frustrating me. I think he should leave starters in through the 7th if things are going well. I’d also like to see Aaron Heilman get a shot at the fifth spot in the rotation.

  1. I think Bannister still is the best potential fifth (or fourth) starter from all the options. I’m surprised he is taking so long to come back after what was originally described a s a minor hamstring pull. I saw some press somewhere saying he is starting to throw off the mound. Both Soler and Hernandez should get another three or four starts before he is ready – at that time I hope Willie casts off whichever one is less consistent. i think I would take youth over experience at this point but what could we reasonably hope to get for Hernandez? Makes me wish we had Julio back.

Also I never even hear John Maine’s name anymore, I doubt he will ever see the lights of Shea again.
