Where New York Mets Fans Get Their Fix

Closer Wanted, Playoff Experience Necessary

A real gut wrencher tonight. Ruined my dessert. Billy Wagner owes me dessert.

The Mets come back and take the lead in the late innings. Wagner gets two outs and then collapses just enough to give up the lead. Terrible performance. I can’t fault Wright for the game ending DP because he already racked up three hits in the game.

As I said in the latest podcast, this Mets team needs to start thinking about the players that will get them through the playoffs. I believe that this team is going to the playoffs with the talent they have but how far into the playoffs will they go? You can’t win a championship without a lights out closer. And right now the Mets don’t have a lights out closer in Billy Wagner. This dude is scary.

I’m not one to be rash but I think there needs to be a plan to solidify the back end of the bullpen. Comments anyone?
