New York Mets Podcast #21
The Mets have followed up a super 9-1 road trip by losing three out of four games to Baltimore and Cincinnati. Even still, the Mets maintain a healthy lead over the Phillies while Florida has streaked to a far back third place in the NL East.
Tom Glavine manages to win his 10th game with good support from the Mets including clutch hitting by David Wright. Wright must be considered an MVP candidate in the NL due to his hot bat and clutch hitting. Cliff Floyd goes on the DL and Xavier Nady returns to replace Milledge in the outfield. Our poll voters have spoken on that issue.
Lots of trade talk with attention possibly shifting from acquiring a pitcher to acquiring a true second baseman. Dontrelle Willis and Barry Zito may not be available and even if they are the cost may be too high. Which leads us to this week’s poll question on who to trade if we could get someone worthwhile.
Three more against the Reds. Let’s take ‘em all.
