Milledge is a good player. Send him down to AAA for refining. He _will_ be back.

I don't think the Mets need to jump on any trades - they are 9.5 games up!

Although there are DH games coming, without the pitcher batting, there is naturally more flexibility in the bench (you don't have to pinch hit for the pitcher). To keep Nady and Milledge on the ML roster would require probably sending a pitcher down. They can't wear out these pitchers. I'd rather have an extra pitcher than an extra field position at this point. Besides, that new guy they got from the Rockies can fill in just about anywhere.

Hey - couldn't find contact info on your site, so I thought I'd comment here. There's a new version of this theme out (and it works quite a bit more smoothly). Check out the link above.

But what if we could get some pitching help? Do you honestly think the rotation of Pedro, Glavine, Traschel and El Duque can go through the playoffs and win a world series? 2 out of the 4 could and I'll let you guess which. El Duque is still not the El Duque of old. If he goes to the El Duque of the Yankee days then 3/4 are playoff pitchers. But I say if we can get someone by packaging Floyd and some other middle of the pack minor league hitter or pitcher (no top tier trade aways.. damn Zambrano) then I say we do it. Milledge needs to stay up here. Yes he's making mistakes but don't all rookies? Heck Wright couldn't field a ball for the life of him when he first got called up. But we stuck with him and now he's Amazin'.

I voted to put Nady on the bench. He'll need to ease back into everyday playing anyway. I like what Nady has given, but the Mets are winning with Lastings Milledge in the lineup so why change?

If Milledge slides offensively after Nady is back I would then replace him with Nady and send him to AAA so he can play everyday.

I've been hearing Cliff Floyd trade talk today on WFAN from a couple of callers. I say NO to that. Cliff is a real gamer and an important part of the core of the Mets team. We should keep him for this season.

I disagree, i think we should keep floyd, let him play out his season, send milledge back to AAA to let him shape a little bit more.

I'm just saying this a little heated, because Floyd is my favorite current Met, and i was a little taken aback when i found out that milledge would be taking his place.

Sometimes it's a touch hard for me to let things go for the better of the team (piazza?)

You can't put a young player on the bench really. Especially one with the talent that Milledge possesses. It will ruin his confidence and at his age he needs to play to get the work in that will lead him into greatness for the future. I think they should look at trading Floyd for pitching because with Pujols out and other teams looking for power the Mets could move him for some pitching help. They have a backup OF in Chavez and there were hints they were not going to resign Floyd because Milledge was their LF of '07.
